Outreach Program

Connecting Trust’s Outreach Program aims at reducing the stigma around Suicide and sensitizing the society towards issues related to emotional distress that may lead to suicide. The Main Objective of this program is Suicide Prevention through increasing emotional awareness. The sessions surround topics like Emotional Awareness, Self-care, Identify signs of stress, distress or feeling suicidal, the signs, symptoms and risk factors around suicidal feeling, how one can help someone feeling suicidal and supporting someone who has lost someone due to suicide.
The outcome of this program is to reduce stigma around suicide, improve understanding of mental health, and promote well-being. By educating individuals about emotional awareness and encourage help-seeking behaviours, these sessions can improve non-judgmental approach for those who are struggling due to emotional distress.
The Mental Health Awareness sessions sensitize people about understanding distress, coping, healing, and personal growth techniques. These 30-60 minute activity-based psycho-education programs are offered to adolescents in in schools and communities, to adults in colleges, communities, corporate companies, housing societies, NGOs, and any other community settings. Our trained volunteers facilitate the Online as well as Offline sessions, which are tailored to the needs of the group.

Become a Volunteer

A potential volunteer, after attending an orientation who likes to connect with groups can participate through soft volunteering by observing or helping with logistics in the awareness sessions. Hardcore volunteering requires a training of 100 hrs. / 5 weekends training. After the training, the trained volunteers get the exposure of practical experience of delivering sessions and offering listening spaces during the sessions to the persons in distress. The training includes related skills such as mindful listening, facilitation and public skills.
